Data trap

Honeywell separated Advanced Materials in October 2025 and Aerospace in June 2026, so any HON figure has TWO separation dates to straddle, not one. A trailing-twelve-month Honeywell number taken between them still contains Aerospace but no longer contains Advanced Materials, and the SIC code EDGAR reports for Honeywell describes neither cleanly.

The restated filings have landed; this is kept as history.

Performance since separation

Solstice Advanced Materials Inc. since separation+15.22%
HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC over the same window+7.89%
S&P 500 (SPY) over the same window+12.63%
Russell 2000 (IWM) over the same window+22.51%
Excess over the S&P 500+2.59%
Excess over the Russell 2000-7.29%

Measured from the first regular-way close on or after the distribution — 2025-10-30 at 48.74 — to 2026-08-21 at 56.16. Window: 10 months. Two benchmarks, because one is misleading: spin-offs are usually small companies, and across this period small caps lagged the S&P by several points a year on their own. Measured against the S&P alone, roughly a third of any shortfall is company size rather than the separation. Returns are arithmetic over end-of-day closing prices. Unlike every other figure on this page, they do not come from a filing.

Pre-distribution investor return

Parent, announcement to separationno announcement date on file
Combined (HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC + Solstice Advanced Materials Inc.), pre-distribution to now+14.64%
Combined excess over the S&P 500+3.24%
Combined excess over the Russell 2000-6.88%

Combined treats a pre-spin holding as 1 Solstice share for every 4 Honeywell shares valued at the parent's last close before regular post-spin trading resumed — 2025-10-29 at 200.58 — against that same basket today. That baseline is a practical proxy, not an attempt to isolate exactly how much value the separation transferred: for a large parent and a small spinco, ordinary day-to-day price noise can be bigger than the transfer itself.

Notes

The first leg of Honeywell's three-way break-up; the Aerospace separation followed in June 2026 and is tracked separately. Classified focus-increasing: a specialty chemicals and materials business separating from a diversified industrial. The announcement date is null because no filing read so far states one — the information statement refers only to a 'previously announced' plan. Post-separation, Solstice agreed on 2026-07-06 to acquire Element Solutions, which any outcome grading of this deal has to account for.
